Microsoft AI-200 Certification Preparation: Azure AI Cloud Developer
AI-200 is the exam that takes over from AZ-204 for Azure developers. It focuses on the back end of AI applications: container hosting, vector-capable databases, event-driven messaging, serverless functions, security and observability. Across five days you work through Python labs with the Azure SDKs and regular practice in the exam's style.

The exam
Exam AI-200, “Developing AI Cloud Solutions on Azure”, leads to the Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate certification. It lasts 120 minutes, may include interactive components and requires a score of 700 out of 1,000; Microsoft says its exams usually have 40 to 60 questions. You sit it through Pearson VUE at a test centre or online with a remote proctor, in English, French, Arabic and other languages. Microsoft Learn stays available during the exam, but no extra time is added. The certification is valid for one year and renews online for free.
Preparation tips
Code every lab in Python: the exam leans heavily on code and SDKs
Compare Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL and Redis for vector search, a heavily weighted area
Practise writing simple KQL queries before exam day
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Is AZ-204 still available?
