Launched on 17 February 2026, SecAI+ is CompTIA's certification for artificial intelligence security. In three days you learn to protect AI models, data and applications, to use AI in defensive operations, and to keep its use under control through governance and risk management. The course relies on lab demonstrations and on the analysis of recent attacks against AI applications.

Prerequisites
CompTIA recommends three to four years in IT, including at least two years of hands-on cybersecurity.
Security+, CySA+ or PenTest+ level knowledge (or equivalent) is advised.
No prior data science experience is needed; the required concepts are covered on day one.
Target audience
Security analysts and engineers facing AI projects
Architects and developers building LLMs into applications
GRC leads responsible for governing AI use
Consultants and auditors reviewing AI projects for clients
The exam
The CY0-001 exam has up to 60 multiple-choice and performance-based questions in 60 minutes. The passing score is 600 on a 100–900 scale. It is available in English and Japanese, at a Pearson VUE test center or online through OnVUE. The pace is tight: roughly one minute per question. Because the certification is new, few study resources exist yet; our exercises map directly to the four domains CompTIA publishes.
Preparation tips
Focus on Securing AI systems, which is 40% of the exam.
Train for speed: about one minute per question on average.
Work with an LLM in the lab to see prompt injection and its defences first-hand.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Do I need to code for SecAI+?
No, but being able to read a simple script and understand how an API works helps with the performance-based questions. Hands-on workshops are guided step by step.
Is the exam available in French?
No. CompTIA offers it in English and Japanese; you can take the course in French.
How does it relate to Security+?
SecAI+ builds on a Security+ or CySA+ foundation and adds the AI-specific layer. It is not, however, required to register for the exam.
SecAI+ or an ISACA AI credential?
SecAI+ is more technical and hands-on; ISACA's AAISM targets managers who already hold CISM or CISSP. The two can sit side by side in the same team, depending on roles.
Is the course available online or in Casablanca?
Both: as a live online class, in person in Casablanca, or on-site at your organization, taught in French or English.
