Network+ gives you the vendor-neutral networking foundation expected of a technician or junior administrator. This five-day preparation follows the five N10-009 domains and mixes explanation, diagrams and hands-on configuration and troubleshooting. It is a natural stepping stone towards Security+, CCNA or system and network administration roles.

The exam
The N10-009 exam has up to 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions in 90 minutes; you need 720 on a 100–900 scale. It is offered in English, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish, at a Pearson VUE test center or online through OnVUE. The certification is valid for three years and renewed through CompTIA continuing education. Performance-based items may ask you to complete a configuration or pinpoint the cause of an outage, so they are worth rehearsing beforehand.
Preparation tips
Practise subnetting until it is automatic.
Troubleshooting is 24% of the exam: rehearse the step-by-step method.
Learn common ports and protocols in small daily batches.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Is the Network+ exam available in French?
No. It is offered in English, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. The course itself can be taught in French. You will, however, need to get used to the English wording of the questions.
Network+ or CCNA?
Network+ is vendor-neutral and broader; Cisco's CCNA goes deeper into configuring Cisco equipment. Network+ is often a good first step. The two certifications complement each other well on an infrastructure path.
How long should I prepare?
After the five-day course, allow a few weeks of review and practice tests depending on your experience. A complete beginner will need more practice than a technician already in the job.
How long will N10-009 be available?
Launched on 20 June 2024, it is expected to be replaced about three years later according to CompTIA, around 2027. A certification you earn stays valid for three years, even after the version changes.
Is the course available online or in Casablanca?
Both: as a live online class, in person in Casablanca, or on-site at your organization, taught in French or English.
