This five-day course walks you through a full penetration test as defined by PenTest+ PT0-003: scoping the engagement, reconnaissance, vulnerability discovery, exploitation, lateral movement and reporting. Every domain is practised in the lab, then tied back to the exam and its performance-based questions. You leave with a repeatable method, report templates and a revision plan matched to your profile.

Prerequisites
CompTIA recommends three to four years in a penetration testing role, with Network+ and Security+ level knowledge.
Comfort with Linux, Windows and the command line; basic scripting helps.
Being able to read technical documentation in English makes the labs easier.
Target audience
Junior penetration testers and vulnerability assessment analysts
Security administrators and engineers moving into offensive work
SOC or red team members who want a structured methodology
Auditors and consultants who commission or oversee penetration tests
The exam
The PT0-003 exam has up to 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions in 165 minutes, with a passing score of 750 on a 100–900 scale. You take it at a Pearson VUE test center or online through OnVUE, in English, French, Japanese or Portuguese. The certification is valid for three years and is renewed through CompTIA's continuing education program rather than by retaking the exam. Performance-based items can involve several steps, so time management is part of passing.
Preparation tips
Put Attacks and exploits first: it carries 35% of the exam.
Practise timed performance-based tasks; they eat into your 165 minutes.
Write a short report after each lab to lock in scoping and reporting vocabulary.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Is the PenTest+ exam available in French?
Yes. CompTIA offers PT0-003 in English, French, Japanese and Portuguese. You can therefore take both the course and the exam in French if you prefer.
How does PenTest+ compare with CEH?
Both cover penetration testing. PenTest+ stresses the full method, from scoping to reporting, with hands-on questions; EC-Council's CEH focuses on a broad survey of attack techniques. Many practitioners hold both.
Do I need Security+ before PenTest+?
It is not mandatory, but CompTIA recommends Network+ and Security+ level knowledge. Without that foundation, plan some time to brush up on networking and security basics before the session.
How long does the certification last?
Three years. You renew it by earning continuing education units with CompTIA. Accepted activities include training, other certifications and professional contributions.
Is the course available online or in Casablanca?
Both: as a live online class, in person in Casablanca, or on-site at your organization, taught in French or English.
