Check Point CCSA R82 (Security Administrator) Certification Preparation

This three-day course lays the groundwork for administering a Check Point Quantum Security environment on R82: architecture, Gaia, SmartConsole, building the security policy, logs, Identity Awareness, HTTPS inspection and threat prevention. Every module includes hands-on labs. It prepares you for exam 156-215.82, which leads to the CCSA R82 certification, the entry level of the Check Point track. It suits teams rolling out a new estate as well as those taking over an existing infrastructure.

Prerequisites

Target audience

The exam

You earn CCSA R82 by passing exam 156-215.82, delivered by Pearson VUE and booked through Check Point's training and certification portal. The R81.20 exams retired on 30 June 2026, so R82 is now the version to target. The certification is valid for two years. It is also the prerequisite for CCSE and several specialist accreditations. Check Point gives the question count, time limit and pass mark at registration, and we confirm them with you before the session.

Preparation tips

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What is the CCSA R82 exam code?

156-215.82. The former R81.20 exam retired on 30 June 2026 and is no longer offered. If you started revising on R81.20, most concepts still apply, but R82 changes are part of the syllabus.

How long is the CCSA course?

Three days, in line with the format Check Point defines for this technical certification course. Each module pairs a lecture with a lab, so a large share of the time is hands-on.

Do I need Check Point experience before CCSA?

No, but solid networking and systems basics are needed. The CPDA deployment course is a good warm-up if you are starting from scratch.

How long does the certification stay valid?

Two years from the date you earn it, according to Check Point's certification FAQ. Plan your recertification before it lapses; we can walk you through the current options when the time comes.

Which delivery formats do you offer?

Live online, in person in Casablanca or on-site at your organization, in French or English, with a lab environment for each participant. Private on-site sessions can be tailored to your architecture and migration timeline.
