Tab the key articles (21, 23, 26 and 34) in your copy of the directive
Rework the course case studies; scenario questions follow the same logic
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Does NIS 2 apply to companies outside the EU?
Often indirectly: EU entities must secure their supply chain (Article 21), so they pass requirements on to suppliers such as managed service or hosting providers. Some digital service providers not established in the EU but offering services there must also appoint a representative in the Union (Article 26).
What was the NIS 2 transposition deadline?
Member states had to adopt their national measures by 17 October 2024 and apply them from 18 October 2024.
How is NIS 2 Lead Implementer different from ISO 27001 Lead Implementer?
ISO 27001 is a voluntary management system standard. NIS 2 is EU law with supervision, incident reporting and penalties. An ISO 27001 ISMS covers much of what NIS 2 asks for, but not all of it.
Is the exam available in French?
Yes. PECB offers it in English, French, German, Italian and Ukrainian, as 80 multiple-choice questions in three hours.
What are the NIS 2 incident reporting deadlines?
An early warning within 24 hours of becoming aware of a significant incident, an incident notification within 72 hours, and a final report no later than one month after the notification.
