NIS 2 Directive Foundation Training – PECB Certification

Directive (EU) 2022/2555, known as NIS 2, greatly widens the range of organizations subject to cybersecurity obligations in Europe and makes senior management more accountable. This two-day course explains its key concepts, its requirements and the usual ways to implement them. It is a natural first step before a deeper track such as NIS 2 Lead Implementer, and a quick way for non-specialists to speak the same language as their security team. The course material includes exercises and quizzes to check your understanding as you go.

The exam

The PECB exam consists of multiple-choice questions across two domains: fundamental concepts and definitions of NIS 2, and the directive's requirements. It is offered in English, online with remote proctoring or on paper. Under PECB rules, results for multiple-choice exams are generally released within two to four weeks. Passing earns you the PECB Certificate Holder in NIS 2 Directive Foundation designation; no professional experience is required, only signing the PECB Code of Ethics. If you do not pass, one free retake is available within 12 months.

Preparation tips

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Does NIS 2 apply to companies outside the EU?

It targets entities providing services in the EU. Non-EU suppliers of European entities are often affected indirectly through supply chain security requirements written into their contracts, so understanding the directive helps them answer client questionnaires and audits.

What is the difference between Foundation and Lead Implementer?

Foundation covers the basics in two days; Lead Implementer, over five days, teaches you to run a NIS 2 compliance programme.

Is the exam available in French?

According to PECB, the NIS 2 Foundation exam is offered in English. The course itself can be taught in French or English.

Do I need a technical background?

No, there are no prerequisites. The course also suits legal, audit and management profiles, since it focuses on what the directive requires and why, rather than on configuring specific technologies.

Which formats do you offer?

Live online, in person in Casablanca or on-site at your organization to train a whole team. An in-house session lets us relate each requirement to your own sector and contracts, which makes the two days directly usable.
