MikroTik routers are used by a large number of internet service providers, wireless ISPs and businesses across Africa, the Middle East and far beyond. This three-day course covers the MTCNA syllabus: getting started with RouterOS, addressing and DHCP, bridging, routing, wireless, firewalling, quality of service and tunnels. Every topic is practiced hands-on in RouterOS so you can apply it on your own network straight away.

The exam
The MTCNA test has 25 single- or multiple-choice questions to complete in 60 minutes, with a 60% pass mark. The certificate is valid for three years. Important: under MikroTik's rules, the test can only be taken after a training session, and the exam is held in a classroom as part of courses run by MikroTik-certified trainers. Our course prepares you for the content; contact us about exam access options. With a score of 50–59%, the trainer may offer an immediate second attempt; below 50%, you must retake the course and wait at least 30 days.
Preparation tips
Get comfortable with subnetting before day one
Redo every lab at home on a small router or a RouterOS virtual machine
Learn how firewall chains are processed; it comes up often
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Can I take the MTCNA without attending a course?
No. MikroTik requires a training session before the test, run by a MikroTik-certified trainer. Contact us about exam access options.
How long is the MTCNA valid?
Three years from the date of issue. After that, you need to pass the test again to keep a current certificate.
What score do I need?
You need 60% correct answers on 25 questions, within 60 minutes. Multiple-answer questions need careful reading, so take time to check every option before moving on.
What happens if I fail?
Between 50% and 59%, the trainer can offer a second chance right away. Below 50%, you must attend the course again and retest no sooner than 30 days later.
What comes after the MTCNA?
The MTCNA opens the door to MikroTik's advanced certifications, such as routing (MTCRE) or security (MTCSE). For a multi-vendor path, the CCNA is a good complement.
