The exam
The AIP-C01 exam has 75 multiple-choice or multiple-response questions, 10 of them unscored, with 180 minutes to answer. You need 750 out of 1000, with no per-domain minimum. It is delivered at Pearson VUE centres or online with a remote proctor, in English, Japanese, Korean or Simplified Chinese; there is no French version. AWS lists the fee at USD 300. Model training, advanced ML techniques and feature engineering are out of scope: the exam is about building applications.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Does AIP-C01 replace the Machine Learning Specialty?
It serves a similar audience but focuses on building generative AI applications rather than training models. We can help you choose based on your role.
Should I take AI Practitioner first?
It is not required. AI Practitioner gives a good vocabulary base, but AIP-C01 mainly calls for real development experience.
Do I need to code?
Yes. The exam assumes you have already built and deployed production applications, typically in Python or a similar language.
Is the exam available in French?
No, it is offered in English, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. The course can be taught in French, with question practice in English.
