The exam
The CLF-C02 exam has 65 multiple-choice or multiple-response questions, 15 of them unscored, to be completed in 90 minutes. Scores range from 100 to 1000 and you need 700, with no minimum per domain. You can sit it at a Pearson VUE test centre or online with a remote proctor, in languages that include English, French and Arabic. AWS lists the fee at USD 100. The certification is valid for three years.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Do I need coding skills to pass CLF-C02?
No. AWS explicitly leaves coding, architecture design, troubleshooting and implementation work out of the exam scope, so the focus stays on concepts and services.
Can I take the exam in French?
Yes. French (France) is one of the available languages, along with Arabic and English.
Is one day enough?
It covers the full official syllabus. Most participants add a few hours of review and a practice test, then book their exam within two or three weeks.
How long is the certification valid?
Three years from the date you earn it. After that, renew it under AWS recertification rules.
Which certification should I aim for next?
It depends on your role: Solutions Architect Associate if you design architectures, AI Practitioner for generative AI projects, or a security path if you work in a SOC or in compliance.
