Prerequisites
AWS targets profiles with five or more years of networking experience, including two years on cloud and hybrid networks

The exam
The ANS-C01 exam has 65 questions, 15 of them unscored, in 170 minutes, with a passing score of 700 out of 1000 and no per-domain minimum. It is taken at a Pearson VUE centre or online with a remote proctor, in English, Japanese, Korean or Simplified Chinese; there is no French version. AWS lists the fee at USD 300. The certification is valid for three years. Retirement: the last exam day is 31 December 2026; certifications earned before then stay active for their full three years, but AWS will not issue new ones afterwards.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Is the Advanced Networking certification being retired?
Yes. According to AWS, the last day to take ANS-C01 is 31 December 2026, and no new certifications will be issued after that.
Will my certification remain valid?
Yes, a certification earned before retirement stays active for its normal three-year period, so it keeps showing on your AWS profile and can still be verified by employers.
Is it still worth preparing for?
If you can sit the exam before the end of 2026, it remains a strong signal of cloud networking expertise for three years. Otherwise, the course still pays off in skills, just without the certification goal.
Is there a replacement certification?
AWS has not named a direct successor and points to its networking training on AWS Skill Builder. Solutions Architect – Professional covers part of the networking topics.
Is the exam available in French?
No, only in English, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. The course itself can be taken in French.
